As a contractor, I was hired to perform duties for this company but failed to receive payment for my services. I have spent the past 8 months trying to contact the business to resolve this but have been offered a plethora of excuses, rather than actual payments. I have saved copies of my contracts with the clients in which the work was performed and have contacted them to verify that there jobs were completed and the money had been transfered to the business. After doing a bit of research, I found that I am not the only person that they are doing this too. Some contractors performed work and services and only received a small portion of what they were entitled too, some not paid at all, like myself.
There have been several concerning factors over the past 8 months. For example, supplies from jobs that were not mine mysteriously showing up on my invoices and that amount being subtracted from my profits. When I expressed the concerns, I was told that it would be looked into, however, my pay on those jobs never increased to show that the situation had actually been investigated and resolved. On another job, work was performed negligently and the workers had to redo the job and that money had been subtracted from my pay, rather than theirs.
On some occasions, we were not to wear our company shirts to display our company name - the main contractor stated that we had to be careful (I assume because of the fear of OSHA coming around). I started to question this... another mentioned that the company "was going broke" right around the time my pay started to become an issue. The company just recently paid for a full vacation for many people though, so I can only assume that they are not going broke and should have the money to pay me and others that have been contracted to perform and met our obligations.
