I never realized a move out of state was scamworthy, similar to cruise ship crime. VERY BLURRY LAWS.
That being said, this company quoted low, and added $2K once the movers showed up. (stoned at that) They put a big hole in the wall, dropped things etc. But really all we cared about was "the" motorcycle. IT never came with the order 3 weeks later. I digress, they charged me this extra payment of $1K. They must call it the SUCKA charge because the driver was going to hold our house hostage if not given another grand. We never realized all the other damaged and missing items until we started to unload over the next couple weeks. From this point on we are on the the do not answer list from them to fix all of the problems.
literally Tina (finance) is unavailable , in a meeting, gone for the day, will call back. ALL LIES. After 2 weeks my husband drove the two thousand miles to retreive his motorcycle, afraid it was going to auction.
Its deplorable to tret veterans so shabbily!
I dont know how these employees live with theirselves knowing that their job is to rip people off, especially seniors. Probably most people dont bother taking action, but i intend to.
So, Mark, robbie,Tina, Avery, Deven, you'll be hearing from me.
I had multiple conversations with the office coordinator, Megan, reiterating that I did not want my belongings moved from one truck to another. Megan assured me that there was no need to shuttle our things because of the quick turn around on the delivery was less than 24 hours. With that understanding, I opted not to purchase additional insurance.
(5) men showed up to move us. About an hour into the move I noticed that my bedroom door was shut. When I went inside, (John), was alone taking apart the bed. He had removed all my drawers from my dresser. I immediately spoke to Jose (supervisor) and asked why the door was closed. He went to talk to John and the door was left open from that point on.
John had taken all the drawers out and carried them downstairs. I was not told that my dresser drawers would be taken out. My personal undergarments were on the floor for all the movers to see. I was extremely humiliated and asked him to put my drawers back into the dresser immediately. Also, I had packed some of my brand-new work clothes in my bottom (2) drawers. The price tags were on each of the items. All the drawers were put back before loading the dresser onto the truck. After John left the bedroom I went in to look around and found a pair of my underwear thrown into the closet. I reported that to Jose as well.
THEFT-I walked out to my car to look for a few items and when I came back I saw John with his hand in my grandmother’s cookie jar. I keep loose change and dollar bills in there for emergencies. When I confronted him, he put the money in his pocket and walked outside. I told Jose immediately and he confronted him. He brought back some money after he spoke to John. I told Jose I didn’t want John in the house any longer.
The next day the items arrived (less than 24 hours). As the items went into the house, I started to notice damaged pieces. Jose told me that our things were moved by the “night crew”. Had I been told that my things were going to be shuttled, I would have either purchased insurance or chosen another mover. I went through the damaged items with Jose. The following items were mutually reviewed and discussed:
DAMAGE-Crate & Barrel glass kitchen table top was missing, a wheel to my $1,200 Human Scale chair was missing, several pieces of my Ethan Allen bedroom furniture were scratched, dented or gouged and the finish was rubbed off in several places, outdoor chairs and glass table were scratched the metal in one of the seats was been so severely bent that the metal protruded into the seat, the table on the $1,500 outdoor patio set is wobbly because they lost the bottom base of the table leg, several pieces of the outdoor set had marks/scratches that looked like something had rubbed against them, the top of both of my Maytag washer and dryer were severely dented, desk was not put back together properly and is consequently wobbly and hard to work on (I have a bag of screws that belong to the desk but were not used for assembly), two of the boxes marked fragile were smashed and the contents was broken or smashed (lamp shade, picture frame, candle holders) and $60 in dog treats were not in the box, small refrigerator was dented with a large scratch across the front door, outdoor umbrella was bent so badly that it won’t stand straight and doesn’t fit in the base.
Additional damaged items that Jose didn’t see was: one of the knobs on my bbq was smashed making one of the burners not function correctly, (THEFT) -approximately $2,000 of my work clothes are missing from my dresser drawers, 55’ TV screen was scratched and there is a white hole that appears in the upper right hand corner and can be seen when watching TV.
Before Jose left, he contacted the dispatcher, Juan, who assured me that he had my glass table top and that I would have it in a few days. To this day, after multiple requests to return my table, I still do not have my table top and the company will not return my calls or emails.
