They closed my secured credit card without any notice because I hadn't used the card in over a year and didn't send money back. Was told the account was still open I just couldn't access the money.

Worst of the worst. Opened a checking account in person, but ACADEMY never could open an online account because of constant internal system errors. Trying to use their Tele-banking was no less obnoxious as you must have a photographic memory to use it, even after correctly giving account number and complete personal I.D. information. They will deny service if you also don't have the date memorized of when the account was opened plus the date and amount of the last transaction.

I spoke with four different representatives of Academy Bank about the hold time on my little secured credit card. I have money on deposit and I understand that there can be a hold time for payments. I was told my four different representatives that my funds would available today on December 2nd 2016. I made the payment last Saturday nite and posted out of my checking on Monday the next business day.

Today I tried to use my card to buy milk and bread at the grocery store and I was declined I called again and was told that I would now not be able to use my available credit until Tuesday morning which if you look on a calendar is about a 10 day hold.

They use a third party company and will tell you to call the "bank". When you call the "bank" they put you on hold and refer you back to the first number. They gave incorrect information four different times and no one can do anything. I work for a major bank, someone can do something but they are choosing not to do anything. They could have verified the funds with my bank.

The credit card is secured with my own money and still hold my payment as not available for over 10 days. They have poor customer service and have poorly trained representatives. The supervisor also could not do anything at all. They are not empowered to do anything except reiterate what the previous representative has told me. What a terrible experience that is causing me an extreme hardship. Do not send this bank your money for their credit builder program. They keep your money and collect both interest on the savings and interest on the unpaid balance and collect a fee monthly to boot.

This is the most useless bank I have encountered my entire life because they are not professional, not trained and provided me incorrect multiple times. I spoke with agen Joyce 14312 and was told noone anywhere can release any part of my funds paid now 6 days ago. Today I was told that it may take up to 10 business days for my credit card payment to clear. Noone can give me a clear and exact definative date that my credit will be available.

I would have been better off just making the minimum payment and not counting on using this card at all. What a terrible customer service with both Academy Bank and the third party that they use for their secured credit card. Consumer beware.

So here it is point blank do not use academy bank if I were you and I'd pull all my money and close the account. Not even a full week ago walked in with a check from a customer for material costs on a job. Got the check cashed no problems life was good. Got the job done got paid another check from the customer for our labor. Go into the same d**n branch that just cashed the other check keep in mind. Understandable that Sunday they couldn't call the other bank to verify the funds. Manager said she could Monday great ok. Go in Monday asked did you verify the check. Manger we're not realeasing the funds until the 29th. What are you talking about well its policy because we fired someone last week for taping the till. Figured go to he other branch and see what they could do. Was told if the check was in front of her she would of cashed it. She tried to call the Englewood branch got no where. Screwed once again. Spent all day Monday Tuesday and now Wednesday on the phone. Call the federal reserves on Tuesday they said he check cleared therefore they can not hold the for more than 3days so Sunday to Wednesday the funds are available. Go to the bank wrong nope they're still holding the funds from this check. Now I'm contacting 9news fox 31 news cbs news etc due to the fact once it has been cleared federally they have to let the funds available. Mind you as well that I explained to everyone I have been on the phone with what if one of the employees was on medication and they needed their wages so they could buy medication etc. guess what I got told well sir. There is nothing we can do the employee needs to learn to save money etc for incase things like this happen. Guess what now that I was told this **** this bank. They wouldn't do anything if you have a medical condition or in the hospital etc. you know what if that was me I would be suing the bank. Guess what gives me grounds for a major lawsuit and to bring in the media and get this on the news before this happens to someone who needs medicine etc.
