Absolutely READ THE CONTRACT before you put down a deposit. Although Laura was very pleasant and the dogs seem fine, the contract was ludicrous. About 15 reasons they can repossess the dog if you are "not treating it well" which is determined by the breeder! Even have a section regarding allowing law enforcement to enter your home (presumably without a warrant)! If you can put up with basically co-owning your pet, then fine. But for this expense and in this country, I expect to OWN my pet, not lease them. Laura will give you the sad stories about why they have such an intrusive contract, but all their assurances mean nothing if you sign the contract. If you can handle that, great. If not, like me, look elsewhere.
The contract was about 8 pages and WAY more involved than the summary bullet points on their website. $500 non-refundable deposit taken and then WHAM! crazy contract.
Make sure you read the entire contract before you give them any money. Learned my lesson the hard way, but at least walked away before dropping thousands of dollars on basically co-owning a family pet.
