In October 2019 I contracted Irish Booksellers, through AbeBooks platform, to purchase a book for $124.27. One week after the estimated arrival date I contacted Sarah of Irish Booksellers about non-arrival. She said it was mailed and to wait. I did. Book never arrived. I noticed that they had another copy in stock and asked them to send that as a replacement. Crickets.
Now this same book is listed on their site for $311.84. AbeBooks was gracious enough to refund my $, but Irish Booksellers, never heard from them again. BUYER BEWARE.
Ordered a code for an online book from Abebooks.com and paid for it. Book arrives and it's not the right book! I contacted the seller through Abe Books named Indoo. They wouldn't respond. Contacted Abe Books to request a refund and they said I needed to mail it back to the address they gave me and get a tracking number. I put it in the mail and then contact the seller again telling them I want a refund for my postage costs. They tell me they only pay for Media Mail shipping.
I told them I was instructed to send it back using a tracking number which costs more. They said they won't pay any more. So I contacted Abe Books again and told them the seller won't pay for my shipping costs to return the order THEY messed up. Abe Books doesn't care and sent me some smug replies basically saying it's out of their hands! So in good faith I ordered a product that was not what arrived and I not only haven't received my refund yet, but I'm also out the cost for the postage to return it to them with the extra cost of tracking numbers! Thanks ABE! Won't ever buy from you or your shady sellers again!
