AARP, Inc. Reviews

  • Dec 10, 2021

Although I have paid on time and in full every month for years, they have sent me a bill for 149.35 as balance due on my coverage.

Is this a scam? AARP should limit their offerings to what the one organization can control. It appears they have let any and all sell under the AARP name without protecting the seniors depending on the name AARP for protection.

I spent 1 1/2 hours trying to register, an hour waiting to speak with a person when the online site failed. Automated system terminated waiting after an hour. No one in AARP was able to solve the problem. One man tried, but help and advice on 2 counts failed, other than being able to pay the fee.

Tried 2 browsers, but still no success. There is no one who can do other than send me to another fruitless hour waiting for an agent who never answers. Now, I can't get a refund, as only the non-answering people can do that.

AARP FAKE BILL

  • Feb 27, 2017

I have received bills from AARP, even though I did not request any information or subscribed to their magazine. I have sent these back as unsolicited and refused, however, AARP continues to send mailings and invoices. The most recent arrived today; written in red was "Important Notice Enclosed" and the return address was on the reverse, to make it more difficult for USPS to return this. I am informed by USPS that this is not a new scam by AARP, and is a frequent ploy used on new residents to a city, or those who have changed addresses.
