Greetings, I am going to be giving an honest review on A Plus Restoration and Construction.
1. Mike is a good worker, in that he is knowledgeable on many aspects of construction, and almost certainly should be able to handle your building or restoration needs.
2. Mike is friendly enough, and will certainly discuss what needs to be done, and for the most part, is easy enough to deal with, in the start. More on that later.
3. I am pleased with all the work he has done, as a handyman, one has to have a reasonable expectation of results, if extreme quality is very importent to you, find a certified contractor, you will pay a lot more, but it perhaps might be the best choice individually for you.
4. If you are a detail oriented person, do not us A Plus Restoration and Construction, believe me, the hassle I will be describing will explain that.
Now the con's of using A Plus Restoration and Construction
1. Mike doesn't communicate well, nor does he appreciate the value of communication, if he says he will be there, he probably will, eventually, and probably a lot later then he said.
2. Remember how I said he was easy to talk too in the start, well, he becomes less easy to talk to as time goes on, he hates to be told anything that relates to his lack of communication as well, you are basicly supposed to accept that he has a busy schedule and life, and your thoughts and opinions are unimportant, even if you are a paying client.
3. Contracts are extremely flexible for Mike, and with the added communication problem, wires will crossed, and you might not get what you asked for exactly. Mike can totally change what you both talk about in expectation, and not let you know that change has happened.
4. Excuses, my God this man has excuses for everything. When I became a man I put away childish things, such as making excuses for one's failure to do what was agreed upon.
5. Respect, Mike does not understand the concept of respect, there were many times this man disrespected me as a man and client, complained about things I said, which were true despite what he thought.
6. You get what you pay for in the end, you want a handyman who can do a lot of things, Mike fits that bill, you want a more enjoyable experience, find a certified contractor.
7. You should not trust any contract you make with this man, unless you write it, you make bullet points, and he reads each bullet point, he initials each bullet point, he specifys exactly how many days he will give you per week, and a timeline of the finished product, and he initials it. Also make sure a price is established, and it's on him to make sure all the building products are purchases in a timely fashion, and any cost increases are on him, if he decides to wait. Do this, and your experience will probably be better then mine.
8. If he had treated me like a client, instead of a afterthought, he wouldn't have gotten himself Fired. I will never do business with this company ever again.
