My 88-year-old mother received an unsolicited phone call (she said it showed a construction company on the Caller ID). Proceeded to have a 45-minute call with a very nice lady who talked her into ordering a 3-month supply of supplements that, once they arrived and she saw the warning on the label, she cannot take them.
There is a warning on the bottle that states you should not take them if you are experiencing diarrhea, loose stools or abdominal pain. She has IBS and if this was stated, she would not have ordered them.
I called the company and was transferred to "John" who informed me there is a no-return policy and they have recorded information of 2 minutes where my Mom says she understands this. He also stated that she asked to order a year's supply but they said why didn't she just try three months which would be cheaper.
My Mom says that was not the case. The amount they gave was very expensive and she said she couldn't do that. They then offered a three-month supply for a total of $289. Of course "John" says they don't have a recording of that but they have "notes" on each call. I asked him to procure those notes and got nowhere.
When you call the 800# you can tell it is a call center as there are numerous voices in the background. "John" says they use a "void" computer system to make the calls - in other words a robo-call until someone answers the phone and then they pick up the call.
"John" says they will mail her a list of their other products so she can exchange what she ordered. Obviously we will not be taking him up on his "generous" offer - they are probably nothing but sugar pills.
Has anyone ever had any analysis done on products from this company? My Mom ordered the Acai Plus.
