I used this service for one tour and to meet women online from the Ukraine. I have never been lied to so many times in my life. I went the Ukraine 5 more times on my own. The women in the Ukraine are about 98% scammers. Almost none are serious about leaving the Ukraine. I'm a tall decent looking guy that is not overweight or anything, but the girls will date anyone, no matter what you look like. They use their great looks to get money and gifts from men and have no real interest in ever leaving their country. The dating agencies do everything they can to part you from your money and you cannot believe anything they say. The girls on their site are all scammers too and I'm sure they pay the girls to get men to pay to send them emails. I have found many of them on Facebook and they never reply to any messages or friend requests even after they have sent me messages on AFA. If the were really interested to know me, then why do they not reply outside the AFA website??? Because they are not paid to answer on Facebook, that is why!!! Don't believe anything AFA tells you and they have no problem lying to get your money. There were 25 men on my tour in 2010 and all of them were angry and disappointed when the tour was over. None had any real prospects for a wife either. Our tour guide even quit shortly after getting back. The girls are gorgeous and know it and know how to use it! The girls are the most cold blooded Bit@#$ you will ever meet, have no heart, and care nothing about hurting men to get money, gifts, or just free meals. Lying is a way of life in Eastern Europe and Russia. The girls blame you for being stupid enough to believe them. They are not loyal either and if you did happen to get one to marry you, I'm sure she would leave if she found a richer guy. That is why the divorce rate is 80% and then men drink a lot there!! Do yourself a favor and never give this company or the girls a dime!!! Russia and the Ukraine are the worst places in the world to find a lady. Don't waste your time and money!! You will just end up broke and disappointed. Take it from someone who has been there several times and knows the real truth. I just wish I had read something like this before I tried.
I'm sure there are some legitimate ladies and legitimate transactions going on. But there are SO MANY scammers it’s unbelievable. The "ladies" on this site are never willing to meet face-to-face and will endless refuse to sign your IMBRA form and communicate away from the AFA site. Apparently ordinary email and skype are taboo! The excuses become humorous after a while. For example, they list their English ability as "fair" or better yet the excuse is that they need AFA's translator. It gets even better when you do a little research and find her facebook page, instagram page or vk page and she uses lots of English. Now this in and of itself does not directly implicate AFA the company, only some of their girls. However, always follow the money!! These "ladies" never asked me for money directly, but tried very hard to keep me willingly coughing up $10 per piece of correspondence. Why would they care unless there was something in it for them??? The only thing that makes sense is that AFA is paying real ladies a commission on these letters, or the profiles are completely fake in the first place and AFA is making up the letters themselves.
Just avoid this company.
Honestly, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but it’s going to be tough to find an internet dating agency specializing in Russian ladies that is not filled with scammers or is not run by scammers. There are a few, and most of those have names you've never heard. I've spent some time in Russia and I've met some fantastic people. Yes, there are definitely beautiful women there that would love to marry a nice foreign guy. But finding these ladies is going to be quite difficult, time consuming and expensive.
Normally, I would never care about others comments and postings about any website. However, some postings and comments about “A Foreign Affair” or www.loveme.com I find to be personally insulting. Why? Because I am a woman that met my husband through that site after he wrote to me before his tour to Cebu. My Profile was #146526. My Profile was real and I am real. My pictures, were my pictures. The letter I received and the male client information I received was the man I met six weeks later.
His pictures looked like he was stern and strict, but after I met him, I realized he had a great sense of humor and was very nice. I was embarrassed for him to buy me anything. The first thing he insisted he buy me was a pair of tennis shoes. At 42 years old, they were the first pair of tennis shoes I ever owned. We had been engaged for three weeks at that time.
I have met many of the women who are on the AFA site from Cebu and they are real woman. Yes, I would guess some pictures are touched up or some women are wearing too much make-up, but all the women are trying to get a man’s attention. I do not know about virtual email but I only received letters from one man about six weeks after I joined AFA Cebu. He received my pictures and letters until I agreed to sign the IMBRA Release to give him my real email and phone numbers. We talked or emailed everyday… when we met, I felt that I already knew him.
I resent being labeled; “Gold Digger,” “Insincere,” or a “Paid Profile” I do not work for A Foreign Affair and I have not been asked to write anything about my experience. I am sorry the men who say these things may have had a bad experience. I was on SIX different websites for over Five years trying to meet a honest and sincere man, that is all I wanted, not a rich man, not a young male model, just a real man, who was a nice guy and would stick with me forever. The CHAT websites were a full of men who were scammers and perverts who only wanted to see naked pictures of a woman. Usually those that would show their body (for Money) were actually transgender men. Nevertheless, the perverts did not know that. Sadly, many were desperately lonely men who just wanted someone to talk to, someone to make them feel wanted.
I realized I would never meet anyone by Chatting. The sites that do that are not there for you to meet anyone… I could not afford the peso to go to the internet café and chat or check the sites where I was a member. Most people in the Philippines do not have W-Fi; do not own a computer, or not even a refrigerator in their kitchen. So many people in the USA, Canada, and the UK, take so very much for granted.
The $135.00 a month I made working went to food, lodging, transportation, and my daughter’s college tuition. Was I poor? Yes, like most people in the Philippines, I grew up very poor. That does NOT mean I am (or was) desperate to find a man….any man. It does not mean that I wanted out of my country either, my family, my home is in the Philippines.
Not every woman or every man is sincere or honest; many do misrepresent who they are. That is no different from anyone in any country, or city, that you might date. Do you really expect AFA to certify that all women who attend the socials or sign up at an AFA Office are all perfect women? Just as many men are as dishonest and as insincere. They only wanting sex and promise a girl everything until she gets pregnant… I know many nice, sweet Filipina’s, who were dumped when that happened and the guy just found another girl to “Romance” and take advantage of someone else.
Many of my Filipina friends on the AFA site have attended Cebu socials and their opinion of some (SOME) of the men are that they are just jerks looking to see how many women they can get into bed during the tour. However, some are really nice, sincere, and honest men, looking for what most (MOST) of the women are looking for, a real, lasting relationship.
If you are serious about finding a relationship, I can assure you many women want the same thing, but anyone a man or woman, can lie, and tell all kinds of stories in a letter, email, or a chat website.
