I paid UPC Insurance Co $3,423.00 for nothing, because I had a $43,000.00 loss from a plumbing leak hidden out
of view under $4,500.00 worth of granite installed 2012 and custom built kitchen cabinets with many extras, like
painted back splash tile behind stove top and crystal insert with a turn table in corner cabinet, etc. Sent an adjustor
1 wk. later that was not physically or medically able to do the claim. Walked straight to my kitchen table while his
nurse searched my entire home, closets, attic, etc. Even open every closet door in the home. Never advised prior
to this visit that anyone other than the adjustor would be in my home. Adjustor said she was his nurse and would
measure for him. I ask for her business card and she handed me a card and they got in the car and left. I looked
down to read it and was shocked that she infact had not given me her card, but his which I already had. I wrote
a letter to ins. co. complainting and asking who she was and still do not know. They are required by law to answer
a letter in 20 days. Adjustor had either had a stroke or car accident. He walked dragging his leg and seen strange.
He called at 7:00AM to tell me he was 3 hrs. out. Woke me up and I could care less where he is 3 hrs. before my
appt. Then appt time comes and he is no show. So after 30 mins. I call him and he finally arrives with lady. I thought
it was his wife, but no it was his nurse. The pull up to my garage, but get out in the rain to make pictures outside
first. Tracked all into my home and showed not respect or manners. I never received but 4 pages when I purchased
my policy and I called them everyday trying to get help on how they wanted me to handle this. I would get transferred
from one person to another and no answers. No one ever called back. I had even called after I purchased the policy
in Mar. 2014 asking why I did not get a policy. They said that was all they mailed unless I needed it. So after my leak
I needed it but it took me over 30 days to get the complete policy which infact was 88 pages long. So I began to read
and call for help, but non available. Told if I did not protect my home from further damage then I would be responsible.
I had the HO3 with numerous extras added, like sewer back up, ordiance com., replacement cost, etc. With only one
claim from Hurricane Ivan, I had forgotten I had coverage to cover food and lodging. I lived in my home with no
kitchen, or water for days and was never told by UPC. I received one call back from Caitland Osbred while eating
breakfast. I had just cooked it outside with a propane tank that I had to call for help getting to work, but do you
think she said a word about having the coverage. These employees of this co. would rather see you die than handle and pay your claim per your policy benefits. I even have had to go to the emergency room having heart problems from all the pressure. They have accused me of causing this damage to my home and saying I refused to let anyone come back to
my home. That is a lie from hell! I spoke with Cory Bryan, my 4th person on my claim, and I suggested they send
another adjustor or somebody to see my home. He called back a wk or so later and said are your walls up. When I
said yes, I never heard another word. All of my companies were BBB and top of the line construction workers. But
they had bad things to say about every co. Even put the Santa Rosa Cty building inspectors down, saying the permits were correct in the internet. Those people do not get paid much and you would think common sense would know
that and that the companies sent women from the co. or do in online to purchase permits. Some permits are purchased without even knowing what has to be done. The walls were not open up enough to know that. Just anything they can do to harass and make life miserable for you. They figure if they hit you in the head enough times they will win. So if you
purchase home owners insurance then you better make sure it is not with UPC Insurance Co.!!!!!
