We "won" a free dinner and a free fire safety presentation.
Dinner was OK and presentation had some good, useful information on fire safety but as the presentation continued it became obvious they were bad mouthing (missrepresenting and scewing data) other products and using scare tactics to sell their products.
Signed up to have a representative come to the house for an evaluation. I had done some on line homework in the mean time and could not verify most, if any, of the claims made about other products on the market. After asking the representative several times for specific references on some of the data he finally threw out a 20 year old study about smoke detector products. I found the study and, in my opinion, he had totally missrepresented the facts of the study.
After 2 hours of his "15" minute visit and him using more emotion based scare tactics, he finally came up with a price. Wanted us to buy right then "for the safety of our family". Told him I would not spend $5000 without some more research into the matter.
Bottom line for me is they charge 5-20 times more than other good products on the market. They use emotional, scare tactics to make the sale and, as far as I am concerned, do not tell the whole truth about the supposed statistics they quote.
Really is a rip off in my opinion. I did not buy but others should be warned.
