TD retail card services a.k.a. the Yard Card received two checks- one July 5 & did not cash until after the due date, which was the 16th and did it again with a check they received August 1- they did not cash it until the 19th of August. Numerous times our bank tried to confirm that the checks were delivered in a timely manner via copies of checks and transaction reports, and the company gave a 30 day turnaround to resolve the matter and continued to charge late fees, as well as an extra charge for the account not being current. Even though these checks were done through online banking TD Retail Card Services refused to acknowledge their error and even accused the bank of holding the checks. The manager was rude and after numerous attempts we had to refinance the loan with another company to avoid this reoccurring.
I received notification via mail that there was a summary of changes made to my account terms. Throughout the entire letter there was no identification of this company. I dug through the trash to find the envelop it came in, that's when i saw it was sent by td retail card services. I'm not familiar with this company but the letter is clearly addressed to me. The letter informs this writer that for any late fees i will be charged up to $38 dollars. I think this is the strangest and most unprofessional letter i've received for what i assume is a lending company or credit card company of some sort. I find it very suspicious when the name of the company is nowhere to be found in the notification letter. As far as i know, this is not a bill, but it certainly is concerning that my name and address are attached to a company that is potentially having some shady practices with its customers as per the reviews i've recently read.
They will charge service fees regardless of how early you send your payment. I have confirmed with my financial institution that funds were sent early enough to be "on time" but still more fees. Every month they have come up with a way to charge an extra fee. Absolute scam company!!! Beware!!
Recently I financed a purchase through Ethan Allen. I made a payment on time last month, and my next payment will not be due for two weeks.
Yesterday I received a letter from the Accounts Services Department of TD Retail Card Services. Without identifying themselves, or my account, the company said my payment is overdue and they are going to send me to collection! Caution dictated that I not send money to a company that did not say who they are.
This activity seems fraudulent. From a google search, TD Retail Card Services has many complaints against it. It seems wise to report this and give other comsumers a heads up on their shady practices.
