There is a right way and a wrong way to do everything; there is NO RIGHT WAY to do the WRONG THING. I needed REAL HELP desperately and I said it out loud to ProModelingInc. I did NOT go out for bid because they were already working in the area; HOA is NOT going to let just anyone in yes?
My brother in law and his wife who is literally DYING from Alzheimer's as we speak; this project is THEIR HOME that I needed done ASAP, to stop bleeding out $6500 in RENT!! I BEGGED them to get it done in 60 days or less, they said yes they would... My brother died in the middle of it and I had to return east, it was supposed to be DONE. I returned and she is the SAME as when I left a week earlier!
WHY wasn't $114k CASH IN HAND enough to complete the project I'm asking.. I signed a PHONE, we NEVER reviewed ANY details... yes, it's MY FAULT; but not mine alone... LESS THAN $30k IN MATERIALS AND LABOR , please make note.... It gets better... The level of care and workmanship is like no other for the cost; I was NOT permitted to REDUCE my costs in ANY way because I signed a PHONE, so in a DOWN market why overspend right?
Well that's a too bad, had I realized I could NOT reduce my bottom line would have chosen MORE expensive materials yes?!? I was BULLIED AND DISRESPECTED because I signed a PHONE. So if I didn't remember the microwave needs electricity in its cabinet, there is NO outlet? I have special commode that also required an outlet, it WAS part of the "phonctract" i signed, where is it? $25k for a bathroom and I get NO shower door because original plans were a "walk in " that the HOA shot down... I won't get into the part about having KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE with HOA, they too have a real disconnect to what is happening in THEIR property as well as mine.
I love the part about Guy literally coming into my home SCREAMING AT US that he wants $50k more to finish the job! That was the ORIGINAL cost of the project that from MINUT ONE SAID NO to because I did NOT HAVE ENOUGH money to pay BOTH rent and him, so get it done in 60 days or less!! I ask you point blank: $114k is in ProModelings hands; LESS THAN $30k in labor and marterials, I PAID $10k out of MY POCKET bringing the TRUE AND REAL COST OF PROJECT TO $164k, NOT INCLUDING APPLIANCES IN THE KITCHEN!!!
I did not get a dimmer switch, what GFI extra installed? I absolutely OVERPAID and ProModelingInc UNDERPERFORMED. The bait and switch on materials, the use of a credit for materials that were PART of the contract, and then DARING to STOP the project for NON PAYMENT?!?
Well, forget the tile flooring being poorly installed, forget that the kitchen cabinets are a hodgepodge of floor models and new ones that were so poorly installed that I am in tears.. The jerry rigged lazy Susan cabinet just broke me. I was with THEIR employee when we picked things out.. Again, my bad I thought she understood I wanted THAT particular on display model... she didn't. Because:
EVERYTHING WAS BEAUTIFULLY COVERED IN PAPER AND PLASTIC... five star for covering up things, that i will say. I had a radiant heat flooring system installed throughout the unit; well as it turns out, ProModeling Inc did NOT FOLLOW THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS for installation and TESTING OF THE SYSTEM TO BE ABLE TO WARRANTY THE SYSTEM FOR 25 YEARS...
There was NO TESTING, NO PAPERWORK SHOWING ANY SCHEMATIC of where the system actually was.. How much money did this cost? How much VALUE did I receive here? ProModelingInc has done a tremendous disservice to me and 2 senior citizens; because of their intentional malfeasance we are now moving into an unfinished, UNLIVABLE condo unit this weekend. I am so embarrassed and ashamed of myself because I honestly and truly PAID RETAIL and did NOT get bang for the buck; I'm NOT from the Bay Area originally, I am a frugal mimi... ALL I ASKED FOR WAS TO GET IT DONE RIGHT, AND QUICK. I had SIMPLE and HUMBLE needs because of ELDERS in need...
They were both teachers, they are NOT rich; I am in charge of their affairs and I told this to ProModeling... NONE OF IT MATTERED TO THEM; all they said was you signed a contract, and we will put a lien on your property, now pay up... $114k was NOT ENOUGH to finish the job? We were deadbeats going to run away?? So sad, so very very sad to see that people from other places somehow think they can get away with using WORDS ON PAPER as a weapon to extort further?!
NO NO NO NO NO. The answer is NO and this situation MUST BE RESOLVED with a FULL REFUND... NO WAY can i let him finish because the INTEGRITY of the ENTIRE project makes its VAUE AND WORTH EQUAL ZERO. How can I believe or trust in ANY WORKMANSHIP!! The sunken tile smack in the middle of the kitchen is the ULTIMATE in your face DISREGARD AND DISRESPECT for customers and reputation; I WILL NOT LET ANY ONE HURT ME OR THESE ELDERS, I CANT!!
