Premier Subaru Reviews
I was there for scheduled service. The service has been good before 2/24/06 which is why I was there. I was told my tires only had 3/32 tread left. I asked how much to put the same kind of tire on because I had gotten 50,000 miles on the tires that came with the car. Scott Collins quoted me a price of over $718. I told him no way. I can go to Tire Rack, Townefair, or a mail order house and get a better price. In fact I pulled out my cell phone while I was talking to Scott Collins and had Cory on the phone from Tire rack all at the same time. I got a price from Cory for $538 dollars if I drove up to Windsor Connecticut and picked them up and paid for the installation myself. That price was a whole lot better for me.
Scott decided to match the price. I had a Premier Truckload Tire Sale advertisement in hand that included mounting, balancing, computerized alignment, and the exclusive low price guarantee. I agreed to purchase the tires from Premier. My final bill came to $776.49. I told them that I know all tire dealers have a charge for disposal of the old tires. There is a person named Barbara Mullen who is posted as a go between the customer and dealer to handle complaints. I told her the whole matter but the net result is the dealership is not moving in their position. I think that the dealership has a policy of supporting a policy of, "OK, you lie and I will swear to it that the lie is true."
The dealership has a flawed service department in that I told them that they replaced my cabin air filtration filter and that was not on the bill when I was ready to ring out. They thanked me for my honesty and then gouged me on the price of the tires. They in effect charged me labor for putting the tires on the car which they said accounted for the over $776.49 bill I had to pay. I would advise others to not purchase tires from Premier Subaru in Branford.
