After paying for months of presumed monitoring service,
(1) their equipment failed to work for my 90+ year old aunt when she needed help. She fell in the bathroom the day after her 51 year old son died [I had to call the fire department myself when I discovered her down hours after she fell just because I happened to stop by] and so
(2) I called to cancel their "service" for that reason--to which customer service phone responded by blaming her for not checking the equipment!!! Subsequently,
(3) I was glad to rid us of the useless un-protective equipment and mailed it back to the address provided by their customer service to me
(4) She continued to receive monthly auto-generated bills which I sent back, noting on those bills that the bills were mistaken.
Then, four months later, they claimed they never received the equipment, rather than write off this loss to US postal office failure or acknowledge the possibility of their receiving department's error, they chose to place the onus on a very distressed and dissatisfied customer and would only close the account if she accepted a proposed settlement. This after equipment failure and the expense of mailing back failed equipment!!!
As the most tenured social worker at the largest hospital system in San Diego, I am sensitive to companies or individuals who take advantage of the elderly or disabled. I believe my aunt was ill-treated, that is, scammed and I want others to know not to patronize this awful company.
