Received a call yesterday from a woman claiming to have "legal documents" that needed to be served, and asked that I remain home between the hours of 10-2. Since I have NO debt or anything to that effect, I ignored the call.
Today I come home and there is a new call. Same woman, now she gives the name Jennifer Miller from legal Support Services. She tells me a civil complaint has been filed against me and that I need to be served legal documents. Since there was a failure on my part to BE here when they supposedly came to serve me, they will now contact the attorney who is handling this case, and she gave me a case number, and a phone number to call back.
Funny thing is, I live in an apartment building and we have video of who comes and goes into the bulding, and there was NOBODY coming to see me today at all. Yesterday she called from a Los Angeles, CA, area code. The number she gives me to call is 866-310-3573.
Reverse phone number search says this is in Washington, DC. I have EXCELLENT credit, and have not been in any litigation case whatsoever...EVER.
This is a SCAM, plain & simple, and she wants me to call the number she gave me, I will NOT do it...
I blocked the number she called from yestedray, will keep on blocking these numbers until they get the hint.
I keep getting voice mails stating that some one is about to serve me with legal papers. Do they really think I'm stupid enough not to realize that process servers don't call ahead to let you know you are going to be served?

But the number displayed on my caller ID was a local number. Which I did not call back.
Jessie from Legal Support Services called for the second time this week claiming that this is my final notice, that they are serving me with legal documents that I will need to sign for. They then called my mother in law and scared the poor women to death. My husband called the number and they immediately asked for a social security number. He told them they were not getting any information and repeatedly asked why they would call his mother. They had no answer. We are not naive. Nobody calls you and gives you a heads up that they are serving you legal documents.
I received a voice message from a "Vince Moretti" of Legal Support Services from a Camden, SC phone number about serving a summons related to an unpaid debt. When I called the number he had called from, the person had a lot of personal information about me: full name, last four of social, home address, and make and model of my vehicle. He said they were collecting a debt of $1247 from a financial institution that I have never had an account with. When I told him this must be a mistake, he said they were seeking a lein on my vehicle. When I told him that I never had an account with the financial institution, he yelled, "We'll see you in court!" and hung up.
I called the bank who verified that I had never had an account with them.
When I called to report what they bank told me, they had blocked my call. When I called back today having blocked my number, they took my call. I told him the bank verified that I had never had an account there. He again threatened me with, "I'll see you in court!"
