Last month, me and my husband were asked to leave our apartment because our lease was up. We were given two months. A real estate agent we were working with gave us the name of Landis, a rent to own company. I had not heard of this company and looked online to find reviews and nothing was showing up. So, I took a gamble and called. I took a gamble, set up a time for a online meeting with Richard. I got very limited information from him. They sent me out a email wanted documents like SSI numbers, W2 forms, bank information and pay stubs. I sent these in and set up a time to meet with a woman named Lindsay Marrone. I specifically told her me and my husband could only talk to her at a certain time. She called over a hour late! Now mind you, we already sent her how much we have in our Savings account. She tells us we have to put $5000 down, (more than we had in Savings) and we only qualified for a $110,000 house. Plus, our rent payments would be $1200 a month! After informing this ex Yale student, with a FHA loan, you only need 3.5 percent down and $5000 would cover a down payment plus closing fees, she proceeded to tell me about, their 3 percent ! Plus out of the $1200 she was asking for rent, only $128 would go towards the house!
