After purchasing my 2009 LR3 from Mercedes Benz of Stevens Creek, I brought the car in to Land Rover of Stevens Creek due to an array of warning lights illuminating on the dash. Did some due diligence, provided it to the manager, where it was widly reported the array of warning lights were due to a battery and/or brake switch failing. The text reply from the service rep Pepe stated "looks like my foreman did see codes for brake switch". He then replaced the battery and sent me home with "everything else is good".
Two days later, all the codes came back on. I drive back to dealership, leave it to be fixed and I follow up with manager that "every article I have read says replace the brake switch (part cost of $12-$19). Please really do the homework to figure out what all the possibilities are to have this fixed." They fix the brake module... not the brake switch, without explanation.
I go home. Mercedez Benz states in follow up email "For the brake switch, if something comes up please let me know."
Fast forward and a few days ago, the same array of warning lights come on and the suspension lowers. I take it in and Pepe at Land Rover comes back with "we need to replace the brake switch. $577.94."
In summary, I provide lock-tight due diligence it is battery and brake switch. Codes for brake switch are tripped at that time (both before and after battery replacement). Land Rover of Stevens Creek elects NOT to replace brake switch. Brake switch fails. Land Rover wants me to pay $577.94.
This is after I had to wait two weeks to get an appointment, only to show up and them to tell me that I don't have an appointment, even though I had spent 15 minutes on the phone with their representative giving them all my information and him scheduling me for that day.
I call to ask to talk to the General Manager. Their response "sorry we don't have a general manager right now." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?
Their Service Director Manny refused to provide me with a write up of the situation and would not allow me to record his conversation with me where erroneous claims were made. While leaving the call he quipped that "all calls are recorded". He told me that if I did not elect to pay them to fix the repair and the car was not picked up today that they would start charging me $50 a day in storage fees.
Horrific service. Working very hard to collect as much money as possible on repairs. while not fixing the proximate cause.
