Terribly disappointed in James Soverns. I hired him to remodel my new townhome. He worked for me for 7 straight weeks and at first I was very happy with his skills and attitude. He did a very good job, and was responsible, until he wasn't. At the end, he would stop showing up, and apparently was taking other work without having the kindness to tell me. He didn't want to lose potential work, so I guess he didn't care about the current, long term job with me. He brought in his son in law who made numerous costly mistakes in my home ie: sloppy painting, not screwing or nailing molding and wood correctly, installed kitchen closet flooring backwards and more. It ended when he didn't show up again as promised when I only had 2 days left to finish the job.
He promised a 5 year warranty on his labor so I asked him to return to fix several of these items - including his incorrectly re-wiring a light fixture and cut off the top post of a fence. He agreed, showed up, got out of his truck to cut the fence post, and left. When I texted asking if he was returning to fix the other incorrect work which I became aware of when I had the house cleaned, he replied saying no, would not. I reminded him of all the things he'd not repaired correctly, and he never responded. I liked him a lot and am very disappointed that he would do something that lacks in integrity and professionalism. When he saw this review on another site, he agreed to finally repair his bad work. He asked for a complete list of repairs and said he would contct me with a secheduled date. He never did. Totally blew me off.
Do a backgroud search on this man and then make your decision. Be careful.
