Horrible experience. Arrived by ambulance due to severe pain. Was given an IV with narcotics which put me to sleep. They took blood and shortly after the nurse peeked in to ask if I had a ride home. I told her I had to wait for my ride and after that I saw no one for a few hours. The medicine finally wore off so I called the nurse who rudely says "I don't know what you want us to do, you've already been discharged and the only reason we let you stay is because your ride isn't here yet, and we need your bed". Mind you, I had NO IDEA that I had been discharged. I was still waiting on the Dr. (Dr. Backer) to give me my test results because once they took blood, I never heard a single thing. I asked for a manager and she got the Dr. who gave me the results and said although the pain was returning they couldn't give me any more medicine as I was discharged. They told me I could get to the bus stop or they would help me with a cab. I was in my pajamas and BAREFOOT....got there by ambulance....now drugged up on narcotics and couldn't walk due to pain and they wanted me to get on the city bus! I know the ambulance bill alone is gonna be thousands of dollars but the care I received was terrible! No compassion and rude staff. Sick people deserve a special level of care which they aren't able to provide. Oh, and the painkiller they prescribed to me causes one of the symptoms I came in there for! I would not recommend this hospital to my worst enemy. I wish they would've taken me to a good hospital...now watch them charge me thousands....for this. If I would've gone to another hospital, I would've been well taken care of. Reading other reviews, I can see this is their norm. Came in pain, left in pain with fever, disrespected, and broke. Don't come here if you have a choice.
My son suffered a cut on his chin after falling down. It was not severe but we wanted to prevent a scar. Total time spent with the doctor. Less than 5 minutes. Total time spent with nurse to administer antiseptic. 5 minutes. The fix. Derma bond was applied to glue the wound closed. Wound would have requires less than 3 stitches if they were used. Initial bill. $940 Final bull covered by insurance. Over $2800! This was supposedly "not-for-profit"???? This hospital should be ashamed!
