DAL Digital Audio Labs produced an audio card called CardDeluxe. Even though the card was very expensive, costing hundreds of dollars, I was drawn to purchase the card, because it is a single channel full duplex computer audio card that fits into a PCI slot and has only one driver. The full duplex was a plus.
Installation is a breeze. You pop in the card, load the driver and set the card as your default audio device and you’re ready to go; we’re talking less than 5 minutes.
However, as with all things, the card that I purchased had an early failure, so I contacted DAL only to find out that they no longer support the CardDeluxe. This is an extremely short life-span for an alleged professional piece of gear.
So I contacted DAL and requested a schematic so that I can have an Engineer repair the card.
DAL refused.
Some radio stations employ equipment that is decades old, but every piece of electronic equipment used at a radio station has a schematic that is easily attainable so station engineers can easily make repairs… except for DAL.
DAL has essentially pulled the rug out from under my feet and anyone else gullible enough to purchase a CardDeluxe. I purchased several cards from DAL and now that investment is no longer supported.
If you want longevity and support, you won’t find it with DAL’s CardDeluxe just excuses.
